If you choose to spend your Caw to Action volunteer day at BARCS, get ready for lots of tails wagging and purrs! Volunteers will help walk our adoptable dogs—giving them much-needed exercise, fresh air, and love. You'll also spend time socializing with our cats, helping them feel comfortable and cared for while they wait for their forever homes. Volunteers can choose which type of animal they want to work with. It’s a day of making a direct difference for animals in need—and we couldn’t do it without you.
BARCS - The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) is the largest animal shelter in Maryland. Each year, we take in more than 12,000 homeless, neglected, and injured animals from Baltimore City. We’re also an open-admission shelter, meaning we never turn away a pet in need. In addition to sheltering animals, BARCS provides free or low-cost resources to more than 7,000 pet owners in our community each year. BARCS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 86-1130456)—our lifesaving work begins with your support!
