Join South Baltimore Community Land Trust this MLK Day for a hands-on service event that honors Dr. King’s legacy and the sanitation workers whose fight for dignity helped spark today’s environmental justice movement. Volunteers will assemble vital community science kits that empower South Baltimore youth and residents to lead Community Owned and Managed Research—advancing healthier homes, cleaner air, and a just future for one of Maryland’s most overburdened communities.
-Street parking is available near the meeting location.
-We will be conducting the service work in doors in a heated building so dress comfortably.
-Participants will make use of basic equipment to assemble the kits (scissors and tape) ...no special skills or experience is needed.
-No special requirements for volunteers other than an interest in helping out with housing and environmental justice through a hands on activity!
-Participants will be given several opportunities to continue their involvement after the day of service - but they will make a significant contribution to the mission the day of.
