Volunteers will help spruce up one of our transitional housing homes by painting, laying carpet squares, assembling outdoor furniture, and doing yard work.

Arundel House of Hope helps people experiencing homelessness in Anne Arundel County.

Volunteers will participate in a hands-on service experience that follows the journey of hope from donation to distribution. Teams will rotate through stations assembling weekend bags, hygiene kits, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and outreach meal supplies while also sorting, organizing, and stocking donated clothing and household items in Bemorecaring's community warehouse. All food and supplies packed will be later distributed to more than 700 neighbors experiencing homelessness across central Maryland. All project materials will be supplied by BeMoreCaring.

Bemorecaring is a nonprofit that connects our community through hands on service, providing food, essential resources, and hope to more than 700 neighbors each week experiencing homelessness and hardship across Central Maryland.

Volunteers will help create an engaging Family Wellness Night where families participate in hands-on wellness activities, fun games, a mini obstacle course, and enjoy a healthy meal together. Volunteers will assist with event setup, activity stations, meal service, family engagement, and cleanup, creating a fun, welcoming experience that promotes healthy lifestyles and strengthens community connections.     

Food 4 Thought Community Outreach Services, Inc (F4TCOS), transforms lives by meeting immediate needs with healthy food while connecting families to wellness, education, and resources that build stronger, healthier communities.

Volunteers will be sharing their energy and enthusiasm as they help prepare mid-season and 5K materials for Girls on the Run team. Tasks include labeling team bags,  bibs, and envelopes. Counting and organizing program keepsakes and 5K medals. As well as spreading gratitude with some coach postcards!  Your support helps create a positive, memorable experience for our Girls on the Run participants, their coaches, and their families.

Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake is a local nonprofit that offers positive and empowering after-school programs for girls in grades 3–8, where participants build confidence, increase physical activity, develop important life skills, and discover the power of giving back through fun activities, engaging lessons, group discussions, and a meaningful Community Impact Project.

Join BARCS for a hands-on morning helping care for our animals before we open for adoptions! Volunteers will choose between walking dogs or socializing cats, and participants should be comfortable directly interacting with animals, including medium- to large-sized dogs, as we do not have non-animal volunteer activities available for this project. The volunteer shift runs from 11 a.m.–1 p.m., rain or shine, with the option to stay afterward to help distribute frozen enrichment treats to our animals.

BARCS is a nonprofit organization operating Baltimore’s open-admission animal shelter. Each year, we provide lifesaving care to more than 12,000 homeless animals and critical resources to 10,000 owned pets and their families.

Volunteers will help conduct one of our regularly scheduled food distributions for 300 to 350 neighbors. Activities include setting up approximately 18-24 pallets worth of food, sorting by category, and filling up food bags. BRN provides all needed supplies and trained volunteer team leads to assist throughout the distribution.

Baltimore Relief Network runs large-scale food distributions and family support programs out of The Compassion Center in Southeast Baltimore, serving 300 to 350 neighbors every Tuesday and Friday.

Volunteers will spend meaningful one-on-one time with our PreK–2nd grade students while decorating pumpkins, encouraging creativity, conversation, and positive relationship-building. This experience helps young children strengthen their social-emotional skills, confidence, and sense of belonging through caring interactions with supportive adult role models. All project materials, including pumpkins and decorating supplies, will need to be provided by the volunteer group.

Volunteers will join the toddlers from the United Way Family Centers for their "Purple Homecoming" dance.  Volunteers will decorate, dance, and play with the kids as they celebrate!

We offer free, full-day childcare for parenting students so they don’t have to choose between graduating or taking care of their children. This Family Center also provides enriching early childhood education for infants and toddlers, and multigenerational support for housing, food, and other needs for parents and their families.

Project Title: Teacher Appreciation Care Package & Thank-You Card Assembly  

The Baltimore Ravens Boys & Girls Club will serve as the central volunteer site for Baltimore Ravens and United Way volunteers. Volunteers will work alongside Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore youth to assemble Teacher Appreciation Care Packages while also organizing and packaging handwritten appreciation letters created by youth across our Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Baltimore locations.  

Prior to the event, every BGCMB Club will participate in a Teacher Appreciation Letter Writing campaign. Those letters will be collected and brought to the Ravens Club, where day-of volunteers will assemble complete care packages for distribution to local educators.  

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore empowers young people to reach their full potential by providing safe spaces, caring mentors, and life-changing programs that inspire academic success, healthy lifestyles, leadership, and career readiness.

Volunteers will help distribute essential food and household items directly to community members, creating meaningful one-on-one interactions while helping meet immediate needs. They will also organize our donation warehouse to ensure donations are efficiently processed and readily available for the thousands of individuals and families we serve each year. All materials and supplies will be provided by City of Refuge Baltimore.

City of Refuge Baltimore is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides food, housing support, workforce development, youth programs, and anti-human trafficking services to help individuals and families move from crisis to self-sufficiency.

Volunteers will work together to revitalize a Baltimore neighborhood by removing litter, weeding garden beds, spreading mulch, planting flowers or greenery (seasonally), and completing other beautification projects that improve shared community spaces. This hands-on project can accommodate 20–75 volunteers within a 2–4 hour timeframe, and Civic Works will provide all necessary tools, gloves, safety equipment, and project materials. No additional funding support is needed.

Civic Works is a Baltimore-based nonprofit that strengthens communities through volunteer service, workforce development, urban farming, neighborhood revitalization, and environmental stewardship.

Volunteers will help host the **Champions Show Up Field Day**, the culminating celebration of Curtis Bay Elementary School's 30-Day Attendance Challenge. Working in teams, 20–75 volunteers will lead game stations, facilitate team-building activities, cheer on students, assist with event setup and breakdown, distribute awards, and celebrate one winning homeroom from each grade level (Pre-K through 5th Grade) for demonstrating outstanding attendance throughout September. Curtis Bay Elementary School will provide all event materials, supplies, equipment, and coordination needed to ensure volunteers have a meaningful, hands-on service experience while celebrating student success and promoting the importance of daily school attendance.

Curtis Bay Elementary School is a Baltimore City Community School that partners with United Way of Central Maryland to remove barriers to learning, strengthen family engagement, and help every student thrive through academic, social, and community-based supports.

Youth Lift-Off Day: A Promise to Soar is a hands-on youth empowerment project where volunteers help elementary and middle school students assemble, decorate, and fly personalized kites that symbolize their goals, dreams, and commitment to success. Volunteers will guide students through creative stations, support the creation of a "Promise to Soar" commitment banner, and participate in a community kite launch that celebrates confidence, achievement, and hope. All project materials will be provided by God's Best Family; funding assistance would help offset the costs of kite kits, decorating supplies, and student take-home empowerment materials.

God's Best Family (GBF) empowers children, youth, and families through educational enrichment, mentorship, leadership development, and community-based programs that inspire lifelong success.

Join the James McHenry Elementary Middle School Community for our Caw to Action Field Day!! Volunteers will help lead fun games, relay races, team building activities, and other exciting events that encourage teamwork, physical activity and school spirit while creating a memorable experience with our students.

Volunteers will participate in a variety of hands-on activities that support our patients and their loved ones. By building stuffed animals, creating no-sew blankets, and contributing to other comfort-focused projects, you play an important role in honoring our commitment to patient- and family-centered care, helping those we serve feel supported, heard, and valued throughout their care journey.

Kennedy Krieger is a Maryland-based nonprofit advancing care, research, and education to transform the lives of children and adults with rare and common diseases, injuries and neurodevelopmental conditions.

We are opening our warehouse/office on this day as a pop-up food pantry. Volunteers will prepare the space for guests to arrive then pack food and supplies then help distribute boxes and bags of food for local families.

Volunteers will assist with inventorying and sorting sports equipment donations, as well as maintaining warehouse organization.

Leveling the Playing Field redistributes equipment to expand access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under-resourced communities.

Volunteers will work together to sort and categorize books for distribution, addtional projects might include filling out Bookmobile trucks, shelving, and various warehouse tasks. We can accept 20 volunteers for 2 hours.

Volunteers can expect to rotate between three projects: Walking shelter dogs around the property (expect to walk excitable dogs that are larger/strong), re-bagging kibble in our pet food pantry, and help with a grounds work or cleaning project. The Maryland SPCA is non-profit animal shelter that takes in around 3,000 cats and dogs annually; our mission is to reduce pet homelessness by providing pet retention services, safety net housing, and community engagement that empowers citizens of Baltimore and beyond.

Meal packing will allow volunteers to gain a hands-on experience helping Meals on Wheels prepare and package meals for clients. Volunteers could do anything from prepping food, portioning the food onto trays along an assembly line, or packing frozen meals into boxes for clients.

Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers nutritious ready-to-eat meals to the homes of the aging, disabled, and chronically ill population in central Maryland.

Paul’s Place is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping the neighborhood of Pigtown located in Southwest, Baltimore MD 21230. Paul’s Place is known to be a soup kitchen, clothing bank, resource for the homeless and less fortunate individuals of Baltimore City.

Volunteers will be assisting with various tasks that directly support our mission such as wrapping diapers, making toiletry/hygiene kits, bedtime bundles, sorting through donated clothing, and making clothing bundles. All to be distributed to families throughout Baltimore City.

ShareBaby addresses the unmet basic needs of Baltimore’s most vulnerable young children through the distribution of diapers and other essential items.

Volunteers will transform SSFA’s newly acquired shipping-container unit into “The Pop Shop,” a welcoming, youth-powered social enterprise at Poppleton Recreation Center. Teams will clean and prepare the exterior, apply primer and paint, and complete branded beautification details within a four-hour service window;

Southwest Sports & Fitness Alliance unites Southwest Baltimore through sports, fitness, youth development, wellness, and community-centered opportunities.

Volunteers will help our kitchen prep and serve lunch, lead games and activities with our clients, and/or help with service projects such as sorting donations or beautifying our facility.

The Baltimore Station is an innovative therapeutic residential treatment and transitional housing program supporting veterans who are overcoming obstacles to regain self-sufficiency.

Volunteers are needed to welcome guests, plate meals, serve food and drinks, host the dining room, maintain cleanliness, assist guests in need, help with cleanup, and engage in conversation. Each day The Franciscan Center serves from 250 to 350 meals during the lunch period.

Volunteers will partner with Baltimore youth to build and fly beginner drones while introducing them to the exciting world of STEM, aviation, and drone technology. Guided by Global Air Drone Academy's FAA-certified instructors, participants will enjoy a hands-on experience that builds confidence, encourages teamwork, and inspires the next generation of innovators. GADA will provide all materials, equipment, and instruction for the project.

Global Air Drone Academy (GADA) is a Baltimore-based nonprofit that empowers youth and communities through hands-on drone education, STEM programming, and workforce development opportunities.

Volunteers will create Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) Welcome Bags for new program participants & Warrior Canine Connection Dog Training Enrichment Bags. Each veteran entering the program will receive a welcome bag containing items to support their time in the VTC. Dog Training Enrichment bags will support the service dogs involved in the court program who provide community service opportunities. Meet Morty--the VTC facility dog!     

The Anne Arundel County Veterans Treatment Court and Central Maryland Regional Veterans Treatment Court provide a coordinated approach to treating veterans with behavioral health challenges involved in the criminal justice system.

Volunteers will help transform and beautify the Rock Church Academy and Camp Rock campus by completing hands-on projects such as painting, landscaping, assembling outdoor learning and recreation areas, and improving spaces that serve hundreds of children and families throughout the year. This 2–4-hour project can accommodate 20–75 volunteers working in teams.  We will provide all necessary paint, landscaping materials, tools, lumber, and project supplies.

Camp Rock is a Baltimore-based nonprofit organization providing children and youth with safe, enriching opportunities to learn, grow, build meaningful relationships, and experience high-quality educational and recreational programming.

Volunteers will support shelter kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation, food service, pantry organization, inventory management, and kitchen sanitation. Activities include preparing ingredients, assembling meals, serving residents, cleaning work areas, washing dishes, and organizing donated food items.

CAN’s Westside Men’s Shelter offers emergency shelter and supportive services that help men experiencing homelessness move toward stable, permanent housing and greater self-sufficiency.

All of our activities are oriented around harvesting crops or packaging crops for the hungry! This could mean digging potatoes, picking corn, boxing green beans, boxing bread, or other food related activities. Everything we do is given away completely free to those in need.

First Fruits Farm is a nonprofit, Christian ministry dedicated to providing fresh, nutritious food for the hungry through volunteer service and community partnerships.

Owings Mills Elementary is an elementary school in Baltimore County dedicating to serving our students and community!

Student Support Network is hosting a volunteer packing event to assemble 400 weekend food bags for distribution to students across our 21 partner schools in the Baltimore County Public Schools system. These bags help ensure children have nutritious food available over the weekend, when school meal programs aren't accessible. Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome to join us for this hands-on opportunity to support local students.

The Student Support Network provides food, basic necessities, and advocacy to support the well-being of Baltimore County Public School students in need.

Volunteers will help revitalize Westminster Rescue Mission's campus through interior painting and exterior ramp painting. There will also be fall grounds beautification including garden cleanup, flower bed maintenance, and growth cutbacks. All tasks are hands-on and designed to be completed within a 2–3-hour timeframe.

Placing river rocks and blue stones to create Christopher’s Creek. Building the frog discovery area with rocks, lily pads, and sensory features. Planting pollinator-friendly flowers, shrubs, and native plants. Spreading mulch and adding finishing landscaping touches. Installing stepping stones and learning tiles. Setting tree stump seating throughout the space. Assembling benches, signs, and decorative features. Helping place sensory play materials such as buckets, trucks, loose parts, and exploration items. Watering newly planted gardens and assisting with ongoing maintenance.

Christopher's Creek is where the hearts of FarmFinity and the Christopher Xavier Boyd Foundation come together in one place of hope, healing, and remembrance. Created in honor of Christopher's life and his love for frogs and nature, the creek invites every child, family, veteran, and individual facing special needs, mental health challenges, or recovery to discover that even through life's deepest losses, beauty, purpose, and new beginnings can still flow. Together, these two nonprofits are transforming grief into a place where every step reminds visitors that they are seen, valued, loved, and never alone. 

The Paradise Project is Inner County Outreach's vision for a 28-acre, faith-centered campus in Aberdeen that will expand access to early childhood education, youth programming, mental health services, family support, and nature-based recreation. During this 2–4 hour volunteer project, 20–75 volunteers will plant native trees and shrubs, create the future Nature Walk using donated wood chips, prepare outdoor learning and gathering spaces, and beautify the campus. Community support is already in place through donated wood chips, trees being grown specifically for the project by local community members, and confirmed partnerships with The Mill of Bel Air and Coast of Maine's Growing Good Program, which are providing donated shrubs, landscaping materials, and raised bed mix; additional funding would help purchase any remaining supplies needed to complete the project.

Inner County Outreach is a faith-based nonprofit strengthening families across Harford, Cecil, and Baltimore Counties through holistic programs that address education, mental health, basic needs, and family support.

Make and install a raised bed at HTCC to educate about culturally relevant food. Cutting, folding, and assembling seed packets to be available to the community. Construct and decorate a wood display to showcase the seed packets.

The Howard County Public School System Belonging Architect program is a program supported by partner organizations such as OHRE, Horizon Foundation, Community Ecology Institute, Rec and Parks, etc. that supports student skills with advocacy, empowerment, and building inclusive communities.

Volunteers are needed to help students with a fun Lego themed STEM project.

Volunteers will help support our Momma & Baby Supply Giveaway by sorting and organizing donations, restocking supplies, preparing family orders, assisting with event setup and breakdown, greeting families, and helping distribute essential items to mothers and young children. We are seeking approximately 30 volunteers, with 10 volunteers per shift, to create a welcoming, efficient, and impactful experience for families in our community. All project materials and supplies will be provided by Trinity Maternal Wellness.

Trinity Maternal Wellness is a Maryland nonprofit dedicated to improving maternal and child health by providing education, essential resources, and community support for pregnant and postpartum families.

Over the course of two hours, volunteers will open and sort through boxes of new name brand clothes and organize the items into a Pop-Up boutique of sorts.  Items will be displayed on clothing racks in a way that resembles a department store. Like a department store, there will be several mannequins to be styled. If the group is larger than 20, we will have a portion of the group receiving and processing incoming donations of furniture, housewares and clothing and restocking our showroom where clients shop.

A Wider Circle uses a neighbor to neighbor approach in facilitating the the lateral passing of goods, skills and connections from one neighbor to another in our community. Best known for providing essential home furnishings, our work extends far beyond furniture.  We equip job seekers with professional attire, provide career coaching to support long-term employment, and operate our Ward 8 Hub in Southeast Washington, DC - a community centered space offering programs and resources designed to create lasting impact.

A minimum of 20 volunteers will work in rotating teams to prepare nutritious food for distribution to children, families, older adults, and other neighbors experiencing food insecurity across Montgomery County. Based on Manna’s inventory and production needs that day, volunteers may pack food boxes, sort donated shelf-stable items, or prepare rescued produce from local farms, retailers, and community partners for distribution. Manna will provide all materials, staff supervision, and clear instructions to ensure a safe, hands-on, and high-impact volunteer experience.

Manna Food Center is Montgomery County’s largest community-based food assistance provider, serving 10,000 families each month and supporting students and families across nearly 100 Montgomery County schools each week, while advancing education, advocacy, and long-term solutions to hunger.

Volunteers will be packing boxes with fresh produce as well as non-perishable items. They will then be distributing these items to clients from Germantown and the local community. They may also be assisting our clients to chose food items from our choice pantry.

The Upcounty Hub is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides food and essential items and services to residents in need in upper Montgomery County. On average, The Upcounty Hub serves 1,500 families every week. We provide fresh produce as well as non-perishable items, hygiene items and diapers to our clients.

Approximately 40 volunteers will rotate through four hands-on stations that include leash making, facilities beautification, and deep cleaning of spaces used by Veterans and Service Dogs in Training. Volunteers will also work directly with WCC’s dogs, helping to reinforce their training while learning about our Mission Based Trauma Recovery program and how it helps Veterans reconnect with life. WCC will provide all materials and guidance needed to complete each project.

Warrior Canine Connection enlists recovering Warriors in a therapeutic mission of learning to train service dogs for their fellow Veterans.

IMPACTdmv will transform Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School into the IMPACT Career Combine: an NFL-style career readiness event where volunteers run four hands-on skill drills with 150 high school scholars who earned their place through a competitive application. Volunteers cheer the class in, coach scholars through handshake, interview, personal branding, and comeback-from-setback drills, sign the cards those scholars earn at Signing Day, and close the morning by filling two Ravens-painted career lockers with handwritten advice that stays at the school all year. IMPACTdmv supplies all materials, curriculum, and a 15-person crew handling every logistic, so volunteers spend their entire four hours working directly with students.

Volunteers will work together to sort, inspect, and pack food, hygiene items, and essential household supplies into family assistance boxes for distribution to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Prince George's County. Additional tasks may include organizing warehouse inventory and preparing donation areas. All project materials will be provided by Mission of Love Charities; however, funding support for supplies and packaging materials is appreciated. This hands-on project accommodates 20–75 volunteers and can be completed within a 2–4-hour volunteer shift.

Volunteers would help transform outdoor spaces used by the mothers and children we serve through:

• Creating an outdoor mural with our Child Care Center students — leaving a lasting piece of the Caw to Action project behind

About St. Ann’s Center Founded in 1860, St. Ann’s Center has served women, children, and families in the greater Washington region for more than 165 years. Today, St. Ann’s Center provides housing and coordinated, whole-family support for pregnant and parenting young women and their children experiencing homelessness or housing instability, as well as nurturing child care for resident and community families. Our mission is to help mothers and children move toward stability and independence through safe and supportive housing, child care, education and employment support, clinical and social work services, and a community grounded in dignity and respect.

Seton Center has multiple storage areas that need organizing to assist us in proper inventory and preparation for our large Christmas program.  We also have a large storage shed at our shelter that could also use time and attention for organization.

Seton Center is a multi-purpose community center located in Princess Anne, MD, committed to the work of advocacy, outreach and assistance. The Seton Center staff work to identify and respond to the needs of all local residents with Basic Needs Case Management, a Food Pantry, Thrift Store and an Emergency Homeless Shelter

We are looking for volunteers to assist with general event support, including helping with activities, engaging with students and families, distributing supplies, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.

Diakonia volunteer projects tasks include landscaping, light painting, cleaning, organizing, assemble hygiene bags using travel Health and beauty products-this is all for 4 different program- so our Rapid Response team may need help with other, outreach bag including socks, hand warmers and outside items. We will need help stocking and cleaning the food pantry, and the same for our thrift store We may even do craft with the clients that day- Diakonia is a very fluid program- so things tend to move fast.
